ABASA is dedicated to promoting the interests, representation, and development of Black accountants and aspiring professionals, while driving meaningful transformation within the accounting and finance sector. Through collaboration with professional bodies, corporates, universities, and government, ABASA works to strengthen the pipeline of Black accountants. With branches nationwide and active student chapters at universities, ABASA embraces a “cradle-to-grave” approach, nurturing, supporting, and empowering Black talent throughout their professional journey.

Increasing the throughput of black accountants through Integrated Pipeline Development
– Collaborate on school-level initiatives to remove barriers to quality matric completion.
-Partner on university-level initiatives to support student success and timely completion.
– Provide structural and academic support for trainees pursuing university studies, CTA, and qualifying exams.
Transformation
Driving meaningful transformation across the accountancy profession and Corporate South Africa
– Advocate for transformation and address systemic challenges in the workplace and industry.
– Equip and empower black professionals for effective leadership and influence.
– Create platforms for influential black leaders to contribute to ABASA’s mission and national development.
Socio-Economic
Capacitating black accountants to meaningfully participate in the economy and drive economic and socio-economic growth
– Advocate for and contribute to the evolution of Black Economic Empowerment legislation.
